Washington DC Destination Engagement
Yesterday, I photographed Jessica and Ryan’s engagement in DC. I enjoyed coming back to the Washington metro area, having lived and worked in the area for 24 years before moving to Ohio in 2007. We started at Meridian Hill Park, which was a location I had never known about while living in the DC area. I wanted to do something unique and different, especially for DC, and I did a long exposure shot with the metro bus while Jessica and Ryan were in the background.
After Meridian Hill Park, we went to Artechouse, which is an AI-driven immersive experience where your movements are mapped and simulated on room-sized screens. Here the computer mapped the body shapes as bubbles and mimicked the form and function of the human form.
By the time we finished Artechouse it was past sunset and I asked for something colorful as a background. We ended up at The Yards Park where I saw this bridge.
I was able to add blue gels, which are Jessica’s wedding colors, and convert the bridge into these images.
To finish the night, we went to Jefferson Memorial. It was appropriate to finish here because Jessica and Ryan are University of Virginia graduates, and Thomas Jefferson was instrumental in conceiving UVA.
I look forward to photographing their wedding in March in Puerto Rico.
