Catedral Metropolitana San Juan Bautista: A Historical Haven for Love The rich history of Catedral Metropolitana San Juan Bautista set the stage for Jessica and Ryan’s sacred vows. San Juan National Historic Site: Capturing Timeless Moments To immortalize the joyous spirit of their destination wedding, Jessica and Ryan chose the San Juan National Historic Site for their post-ceremony portraits. This UNESCO World Heritage Site encompasses a series of fortifications and walls that once defended Puerto Rico from maritime invasions. After the ceremony we looked to take pictures around San Juan. As everyone who’s been to San Juan knows, there are two absolutes in Puerto Rico. First, the traffic is always a problem and the gale force winds are omnipresent. So we were limited in our portrait selection because of the major traffic jan despite allowing 2 hours for pictures between ceremony and reception. We arrived at San Juan National Historic Site and walked to El Morro a distance of 1/4 mile. That is one way and is shown in yellow on the map. The trip was well worth it as we captured some iconic images with the large bridal party and Jessica and Ryan. On the way back to the hotel we stopped at Old San Juan and captured unique cobblestone images and colorful buildings with Jessica and Ryan. The cobblestone paths, historic cannons, and expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean provided a captivating backdrop for the couple’s portraits.
